POSITION TITLE:                                                                      Executive Director

CLASSIFICATION:                                                                    Full Time/Salaried

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:

Three years of managerial experience within a diverse working environment, knowledge of general (501-3c) non-profit standards; demonstrated the ability and understanding of basic human resources procedures, and high integrity leadership skills.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of the service area policies and programs of Contra Costa County; have an interest specifically in the systems that serve high risk children, youth and their families.  Proven potential of working with community collaborative building partnerships with individuals, groups and governmental (elected/appointed officials) agencies.  Budget analysis, Medical regulations and sound decision-making abilities.  A visionary with excellent oral and written skills that motivates and facilitates fundraising strategies and grant opportunities.  Proven confidence in the wraparound concept and mental health support services.  A distinct knowledge of trauma informed practices of county governments and other municipalities.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Master’s degree or above in Social Work, the Social Sciences  Psychology and/or related disciplines. Acquired licensing:  MFT, LCSW, with clinical emphasis and/or related fields.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY:

Under the guidance of the YSB Board of Directors, responsible for the total operations of the agency; serves as an ad hoc to the Board of Directors committees, personnel and policy decisions, program development, physical plant needs, community relations, and social media/marketing brand; assures service delivery according to all grants and contract awarded to the agency.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

Overall program, fiscal management, and supervision of the agency. Reports directly to the YSB Board of Directors regarding issues and regulations that impacts the agency.  Monitor contractual obligations with all program managers, supervisors and coordinators.  Enables the agency to maintain a healthy linkage with the schools, city, county officials, law enforcement and neighborhood groups.  Monitor data used for reporting, marketing and evaluating purposes.  Chair monthly meetings of management, supervisors and coordinators.  Initiate community engagement that will enhance the role and image of the agency.  Communicate regularly with outside agencies, individuals and elected officials regarding policy and procedural issues impacting children, youth and family services.

SALARY/BENEFITS:

Commensurate with experience and qualifications; Health and Dental Insurance; Sick pay; Vacation and Holiday Leave; 401k opportunities and Retirement Plan.

Range:  $120k to $145k.

The West Contra Costa Youth Service Bureau was founded thirty-five (35) years ago by a concerned group of citizens who formed a movement to assist with the development of a team-based approached to at risk children, youth and families.

The culture established in 1984 still exists today!  The Board of Directors is looking for a continuum of passion, commitment and dedication to this work, the community and to the hard-working staff with an average tenure of 15 years!
