Happy Giving Tuesday, Richmonders!
Giving Tuesday, celebrated the Tuesday following Thanksgiving; is a Global Generosity Movement that inspires millions of people to give back and make a difference!
This year, the Richmond Chamber of Commerce is very pleased to highlight The Contra Costa Youth Service Bureau (CCYSB) for #GivingTuesday.
The Contra Costa Youth Service Bureau was founded in 1984 by African American activists to address systemic causes of violence for Richmond youth. Our focus was serving the historically marginalized, primarily African American community of North Richmond. In closing the youth wellness gap, CCYSB services promote mental health and well-being. Our program offerings include academic achievement, youth mentorship, truancy prevention, economic empowerment readiness, Kinship support for relative caregivers, wraparound services, and direct response.
Across all services and programs, the Bureau’s staff is spearheaded by Mrs. Kimberly Cantazano and a 12-member Management Team including administrative and program leaders that goes above and beyond the call of duty to build trust, treat clients with dignity and respect and collaboratively create positive solutions. This level of care has allowed the Bureau to become part of each client’s extended family garnering close connections and a strong reputation, especially in Contra Costa County.
THE BENEFIT OF GIVING TO CCYSB
When you become a “Youth Champion” donor you help introduce interventions that support self-sufficiency and independence for our children, youth, and their families.
CCYSB Wraparound is a mental health program that serves youth between the ages of 5-21. With your help we can continue serving families and youth throughout Contra Costa County that are at a higher risk for out-of-home placement and coming into contact with the Juvenile Justice Department and/or Children and Family Services. Your donation will assist youth that have witnessed and/or been victims of violence, with medical, housing, food, transportation, and school supplies that have limited access to community and educational resources. With your donation we can work with each family individually to support their needs related to emotional and behavioral challenges.
This year we have a specific need in assisting our foster youth ages 13 to 18 years of age. These teens are a part of the community and are in need of your support for a special holiday season!
