M. Naima Walls-Johnson is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with nearly two decades of experience supporting at-risk youth, families, and communities through clinical care, program leadership, and advocacy.[extra] As Clinical Operations Manager at the Contra Costa Youth Service Bureau, she oversees the EPSDT Wraparound and Differential Response Path II programs, providing strategic direction, clinical supervision, and operational oversight to ensure high-quality, trauma-informed services.
Born and raised in both Oakland and San Francisco, Naima has always been driven by a deep desire to serve communities that reflect her own lived experiences. She understands the challenges that come with growing up in rapidly changing environments and is committed to promoting mental health as a vital part of community well-being. Her work is grounded in the belief that staying mentally healthy is essential—not only for youth but for individuals and families navigating the pressures of today’s world.
Naima’s history with CCYSB spans many years, including previous roles as West County Clinical Director and family facilitator. Throughout her career, she has collaborated closely with schools, county agencies, and juvenile justice partners to support vulnerable youth and improve access to comprehensive mental health care.
She holds a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University and a B.A. in Psychology from Spelman College. Her approach to leadership and therapy is marked by empathy, integrity, and a lifelong commitment to uplifting and empowering the communities she calls home.
